I know this is not strictly new News but as it’s not out yet, due for production during February / March, and since I’ve only just done this page I thought I’d include it.
It’s proving a bit controversial for a few reasons.
Most people are unsure about the Race Red Colour as it’s just a standard Ford Colour that you can get on any number of Ford mainstream models not least the Focus ST. If you spec the aforementioned ST with Black Wheels then lets face it they do look remarkably similar. In my opinion it ought to have been a ‘Special’ different colour that’s not available on the ‘mainstream’ models.
Another is that originally there was meant to be 300 but I’ve heard rumours that this may increase to as many as 500!!?? How true this is who knows until they start arriving in dealerships.
The Interior Details really ought to have been Red rather than Blue! On the MK2 Focus RS500 this happened so why not on the ‘MK3 RS Red Edition’?? In my opinion this would have really finished the car off.
Why no Mountune FPM375 to go with the inclusion of the Diff? Again to me, and many others, this would have been a No Brainer!! Come on Ford Performance give the Customer what they want 🙂
It’s a limited production special edition car but there’s no badges to state as such on the car whatsoever!!?? It’s not numbered & there’s not even an ‘Edition’ badge, strange!! They even managed to do this on a Focus ST500 & Fiesta ST500 but not on a RS!!??
Don’t get me wrong I think they’re great cars overall* but they could have been that little bit better with a bit more effort & as they say the attention is in the details! 😉
I think if it was my money I’d buy the Blue Edition as at least then the Interior Trim compliments the Exterior Colour.
*As long as you didn’t get one of the early cars that’s had Engine problems that is. Ford have now issued a Recall for this if your car was built between August 3rd 2015 to July 6th 2017. If you’re affected by this then please contact your Ford Dealer. Obviously the Red Edition Cars won’t be affected by this.
